Travellers Choice members have always shown a willingness to share knowledge and experience, so it should come as no surprise that the response to the inaugural Member Mentoring Program has exceeded expectations.
General Manager - Finance & Administration Justin Michael says almost 30 members have expressed an interest in taking part in the program, with 11 highly-respected agency owners set to take on mentoring roles.
“We were expecting a maximum of 20 people to take part in the first program, so the response has been outstanding,” says Justin. “What’s even more pleasing is the exceptional quality of those involved. We have now reviewed the information gathered about each of the participants and gone about matching the inaugural group of mentors and mentees.”
The mentoring initiative was created in response to member surveys that indicated a desire among some business owners to pass on valuable insights and advice to colleagues. The structured program helps participants address a range of business and personal development issues, with a focus on helping mentees achieve clearly defined career and business goals.
The first mentoring sessions commence in October and run for six months until April 2019, with mentors and mentees meeting once a month (either by phone or in person). Time has also been allotted for a one-on-one mentoring session to take place on the first day of this year’s Annual Shareholders’ Conference in Cairns in late November.
