Travellers Choice has appointed Kerrie Selby to the position of Business Development Manager for Queensland and Northern New South Wales, ahead of the retirement next month of Kim Tomlinson.

Selby brings more than 30 years' experience to her new position, having previously held regional, state and national roles across the retail travel, corporate travel and hospitality sectors. Most recently she served as National Franchise Manager for Branded & Associate Networks at Helloworld Travel.

Selby is now responsible for supporting the local sales and marketing activities of Travellers Choice members across Queensland and Northern NSW. In addition, she will liaise closely with preferred suppliers and help drive the ongoing expansion of the award-winning group’s regional network.

Managing Director Christian Hunter says Selby is a natural fit for Travellers Choice.

"Kerrie has a genuine passion for nurturing strong bonds with travel agency owners and helping them grow their businesses," says Hunter. "She also understands the intrinsic value of forging close and respected relationships with preferred suppliers.

"I have no doubt that our Queensland and Northern NSW members will benefit enormously from her enthusiasm, expertise and insight."

Selby replaces Kim Tomlinson, who is retiring after almost a decade with Travellers Choice.

“Kim’s decision brings to a close a distinguished 40-year travel career that includes senior roles within some of the travel industry’s most iconic brands, including Qantas, Travelscene American Express and Emirates.

"During his time with Travellers Choice Kim has shown an unwavering commitment to supporting independent travel agents, especially during one of the most turbulent periods in our industry's history. On behalf of all of our members I would like to pass on our enormous gratitude and wish him a wonderful, well-earned retirement."
