Travellers Choice’s top 10 members can look forward to sundowners beside the mighty Victoria Falls and encounters with Africa’s wildest attractions next year – just part of their reward for being named the national retail group’s 2019 Gold Choice Award winners.
Each year Travellers Choice presents its top performing agencies with Gold, Silver or Bronze Choice Awards, with 10 winners in each category determined by the level of support they provide the national network's preferred suppliers.
In addition to winning coveted spots on enticing Choice Reward Trips, recipients attend an exclusive peer-to-peer networking event and receive service grants worth up to $1500 per agency, which they can use towards the network's extensive suite of innovative business and marketing services tailored to supporting independent travel agents.
Travelling next February as guests of The Africa Safari Co, this year’s Gold Choice Award winners will take part in a dedicated eight-day journey to Zimbabwe, Zambia and Botswana. As well a visit to Victoria Falls, the African Rivers of Gold itinerary includes game drives along the banks of the Chobe and Zambezi rivers and magical nights under the stars in some of southern Africa’s most luxurious properties.
This year’s Silver Choice Award trip is hosted by Swagman, which will take winners on a Spiritual Sri Lanka tour in April. The eight-day program combines the cultural sights of Dambulla and Kandy with a scenic train ride to the tea plantations of Nuwara Eliya and a safari to the tangled forests and rare wildlife of Yala National Park.
Meanwhile, Bronze Choice Award winners will board Majestic Princess, one of the newest ships in Princess Cruises’ fleet, for an eight-day voyage next February. From Sydney harbour the ship will follow the coast to Melbourne before crossing the Bass Strait to visit explore Port Arthur, Hobart and Great Oyster Bay.
Managing Director Christian Hunter says the Choice Awards program is without question one of the group’s most successful initiatives because each year the rewards flow well beyond the 30 prize recipients.
"The Choice Awards have provided an additional incentive to drive business to our preferred suppliers and in doing so they have helped our network continually optimise the value of our preferred agreements,” says Hunter.
"That in turn has helped Travellers Choice maintain its perfect record of delivering aprofit every year since our inception, and as the Company's sole shareholders, every one of our members has shared in those financial rewards."
